Ford is one of the most common vehicles on Eastleigh roads, which makes it one of the most commonly worked-on makes. Replacement, spare and programmed keys for the Fiesta, Focus, Kuga, Puma, Mondeo and the Transit range — all done at your vehicle.
Mobile service — keys cut and programmed at your vehicle in Eastleigh and nearby.
Ford key work spans two very different eras. Older Fiestas, Focuses, Mondeos and Transits use the distinctive Tibbe-style key — an oval blade that looks nothing like a conventional car key — while later models moved to standard laser-cut blades with remote flip keys and, on the newest vehicles, fully keyless fobs. Knowing which system your vehicle carries is the first step, and it is worked out from the registration before any price is quoted.
Ford keys we supply and program
Tibbe-style keys
Found on many older Fiestas, Focuses and Transit models. The blade is cut to a code rather than copied, and the transponder chip inside the head has to be programmed to the immobiliser before the engine will run.
Remote flip keys
The standard fitment on most Ford models from the mid-2000s onwards. A new remote key is cut and paired so that both the blade and the central locking work as the original did.
Keyless fobs
Newer Kugas, Pumas, Focuses and similar models carry a proximity fob for keyless entry and push-button start. Where the vehicle supports it, replacement fobs are programmed for full keyless operation and the emergency blade inside is cut to the locks.
Transit and commercial keys
The Transit, Transit Custom and Transit Connect are regular jobs — a van off the road stops the working day, so spares and lost-key replacements for the Ford van range get priority. See van keys for the commercial service.
Common Ford key jobs
- All keys lost on a Fiesta or Focus — a new key created from the vehicle itself.
- A second key for a household car, cut and programmed on the driveway.
- A remote that has stopped locking and unlocking, or a fob battery issue.
- Snapped Tibbe blades — the oval blade is a common snapping point.
- Transit keys lost mid-working-day, where getting the van moving again matters most.
Information needed to quote
Have the registration, the model and year, and a note of whether any key still works. Where the vehicle is parked in Eastleigh — driveway, workplace, or a car park near the town centre — helps too, because the work happens wherever the vehicle sits.
